Designing this magazine spread began with connecting to the heart of the article, a love for nature and the embrace of Texas's underrated wonders. To reflect those values, I created a soft, scenic illustration of a girl walking along a trail, blending it into the background to support the story without overpowering it. The layout was guided by a desire for calm and openness, using earthy colors and native plants and animals of the area. Typography and spacing were chosen to feel airy yet grounded. The goal was to create a visual experience that invites the reader to slow down and explore.
